I’d be remiss if I didn’t honorably mention Otter Springs. That place is absolutely amazing. Springs, a heated pool, room to roam, bordering the Suwannee River, and a lot of cool events. The people working there couldnlt be more welcoming or friendly.
The Property Manager, Dan who is also the local Town Manager, is someone I not only enjoyed being around but learned a few things from. He happens to be the stick pony world record holder and has experiences around a philosophy on life that is unmatched.
They set me up with a cabin which happened to be open. It was a really neat little place that was comfortable and refreshing.
That weekend was also a bluegrass festival so the park was alive with activity and good fun music. I had a great time! Dan ensured I was well fed and offered me some sunscreen and a financial donation before I hit the road. Without this, I seriously doubt I would have made it to the end. It purchased me a few tubes to get me down the road and an iphone charging cord after I lost mine. I am very thankful!
And if all that wasn’t enough, there was a top notch haunted house and haunted hike, (all 1 ticket) which was outrageously good! I don’t scare easy, nor do I enjoy childish events. This did not disappoint. Just an incredible evening!
I look forward to returning very soon with my wife for an Elvis Gala they are hosting and definitely the bluegrass fastival next year. This place is a true gem and worthy of a visit.
As an aside, Dan is working to create a place called Camp Valor which will be a top notch rehabilitation center for wounded vets. I am excited to assist him with this project and urge anyone looking for a worthy cause to support to consider this one.
Thank you, Dan and co.! You guys and gals are all really great people!
